The boys soccer team (3-4-2) matched up against Winter Park Wildcats (6-1-0) on Thursday.

From the start, the Wildcats proved to show a strong offense, quickly challenging the Braves defense. Within a couple of minutes into the game, senior Jake Stewartson cleared the ball out of the box, pushing the boys down the field.

The ball was passed by senior Ivan Landin to freshman Ian Haslacker who then dribbled the ball closer to goal, shooting for the first goal but the Wildcats goalie deflected it.

The Wildcats made a fast break down the field and the ball was kicked out of bounds off of a Brave. On a corner kick, Wildcats scored the first goal of the night. Making the score 0-1, after the kickoff senior Luca Bertola made a shot, the Wildcats goalie blocked it.

Keeping up with the Wildcats offense, Stewartson shot for his second block of the night while Wildcats pushed for another goal.

At the first water break, the Wildcats led. The score was 0-1.

After the break, the ball was taken down the field by sophomore Trevor Firkel, who soon crossed it to Zedy Adlam, but the ball veered off onto a Wildcats head.

At the end of the first half, the score remained 0-1.

Beginning the second half with a new and energized attitude, senior Paxton Cox takes the free kick and Adlam attempts to make a goal but is does not succeed.

With the boys defense pushing the Wildcats out of the box, the first yellow card against the Wildcats was called.

After the second water break, the score prevails as 0-1. Another wildcard was called against the Wildcats.

With less than a minute, senior Cameron Caicedo booted the free kick but the shot was blocked by a Wildcats goalie, 0-1.

The boys soccer team will face the Colonial Grenadiers (3-5-2) on Dec. 18 at Colonial for their next game.
