How long have you been teaching?
This is my 12th year teaching.
Where have you previously taught?
I opened Bridgewater Middle School in 2007, in sync with the school, community and students for 11 years I taught there and now I’m here.
What college did you graduate from?
I graduated from Rollins College.
What subject do you teach?
I teach English 2 Regular and Honors.
What inspires you to teach students every day?
I love the aha moment in students when they finally get something, or when they have a thirst to learn more.
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you so far this year?
After school I’m taking a class for my gifted endorsement and the College and Career Center. Thinking this was in the media center, that is where I went. I could not find anyone and no classes where being held there. Ms. Guastella, the assistant principal, had to point me in the direction of the front of the school. I felt like a new student.
What is your favorite ’90s jam and why?
“Regulate by Warren G., because I feel like the song embodies me as a teacher to regulate my students.
What is one thing you hope your students walk out of your class feeling?
I hope that they have a sense of confidence and ability to learn and take action using their knowledge.
What did you want to be (career wise) as a kid, and why that career?
I wanted to be a Criminal Psychologist, I wanted to solve all the world’s problems by learning the patterns and behaviors of those committing crimes.
If you had to eat the same meal every day for one year, what would it be?
The first thing that popped into my head was Lazy Moon Pizza with a caprese salad and water.
