Teacher Spotlight Background

What made you switch from middle school to high school?
This is where students have the chance to learn deeper and more meaningful thoughts. I have a chance to connect with students and impact their knowledge in a more powerful way.

Why do you teach biology?
I’ve always had an interest with science. It’s fascinating how every aspect of Earth is connected. It’s also impressive that as a species, humans have tried their best to grapple with the idea of observing and explaining, and in the process create what we call “science.”

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Japan. The Otaku in me will never let that down.

What is your favorite Netflix show to binge?
This is a close tie between The Office and Park and Recreation. Also Leslie and Ben are the  Better Couple.

What inspired you to become a teacher?
The idea that I can potentially have a positive impact on a student’s future is a strong motivating force. While I know I’ll never reach everyone, I will do my best to guide us into a better future.

Do you have a hidden talent?
My friends like to joke that I can sleep anywhere, at anytime, during anything. I like to think their jealous.

What college did you attend?
I went to UCF. My main reason for going there was that it was close to home so I could save money on rent. But after a while, I really enjoyed the school and everything it offers, so I’m glad I ended up going there.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Cellular regeneration, like the Deadpool.

What’s the most interesting thing about you?
I think the most interesting thing about me is that I am a fairly relaxed and easy going person, usually.
