Fun Activities

With the current quarantine and global encouragement of social distancing, here’s 10 activities to conquer the boredom. Take a look at easy activities for everyone sick of staring at your phone all day.

#1 Blogging or journaling: With the unprecedented amount of time we have to ourselves, starting a blog or writing in a journal to discuss how you feel in your current situation or discuss your experience and life updates with your peers may be the fix to your lack of human contact.

#2 Netflix Party: Want to watch top movies and shows with your friends online? Netflix Party allows you to do just that. Netflix Party helps bridge the gap of social distancing by allowing you and your friends to stream shows and movies on your desktop, so you’re always watching the same thing at the same time. An added benefit is the side chat bar, where you and your friends can discuss what’s going on in the movie at all times.

#3 Baking: There comes a point where we have to satisfy that sweet or savory craving that’s bound to capture us during self-quarantine. If you’re into baking, you can use this time to create fun challenges with your family while baking. Here is a link to some fun and easy recipes to complete with family or by yourself!

#4 Painting: An easy and a rather cheap way of allowing yourself to distress and live in the moment. You do not need to be a master painter to have fun, this activity allows you to create whatever you want or follow a step by step video on how to paint something of your choice.

#5 Spa Day: In desperate need of a spa or mental health day? Now is the time to take advantage of an all about me and a peaceful day in. Put on a face mask, light some candles and begin your movie or show marathon.

#6 BBQ Day (Day out in the Backyard): At some point staying inside the house all day is going to make your head spin. A good idea that leaves room for some family bonding would be grilling food and some backyard games. Pick up a frisbee, football or chill in the pool on a hot day. You could end the day with some smores and chats by the campfire.

#7 Do It Yourself: What better time than now is it to channel your creative outlooks and goals. If you’re looking for a fun challenge, you could try and create something out of the supplies and objects you have and watch out for the end result. If you’re looking for a more structured DIY session there are hundreds of thousands of videos on YouTube of things you can DIY and how to.

#8 Board Games: There’s nothing like that much needed victory in a board game against your opponent. Take the time to put the video games down and social media and spend some time with family members playing board games with some snacks.

#9 Indoor Concerts: With all sports and concerts either canceling or postponing their shows, an indoor concert with your family and friends is a fun alternative. Create a shared playlist on Spotify or Apple Music with your friends, have everyone add a few songs and be prepared to jam out.

#10 Tik Tok: If you haven’t done so already, download TikTok and begin exploring the app that you may spend way too many hours on. If you want to get fancy, film a TikTok to one of the current dance trends and hope to become TikTok famous. Don’t forget to share with your friends for a good laugh!
