Jackson Tyndall is one of 27 valedictorians.
College and Major: “University of Florida, Computer Science.”
Why were you drawn to UF? “Besides football games a Greek life, probably just learning about how to navigate the real world. I can’t wait to get a career and I know UF will give me a great education that I will definitely use to the fullest when I leave.”
Why were you drawn to Computer Science? “I enjoyed taking Mr. Mitchell’s computer science courses and I know that the world is heading in a more technological direction. I know there will be good jobs available for me out of college.”
Favorite memory at Boone: “Beating Winter Park in the Metro Championship (for lacrosse).”
Biggest challenge: “Transitioning from middle school to high school with a higher number of students and having to make new friends.”
Biggest accomplishment: “Being a valedictorian.”
What kept you motivated? “Just knowing that once I got into a good school, preferably UF, it would all be worth it. It’s always been a dream of mine to go there and getting accepted is what motivated me.”
Why did you want to be so involved with extracurriculars despite a heavy course load? “I wanted to meet new people and have fun with other students and look good for college.”
Advice to new students: “Don’t be shy, start conversations with students around you whom you are unfamiliar with.”
