Following a season opening loss against Olympia, the varsity football team traveled to Timber Creek Friday night looking to even their record. However, a late drive starting at the 5 yard line didn’t produce a score and the team lost, 21-13. The eight turnovers contributed to the unexpected loss, but an opportunity for redemption arrives on Friday when the annual rivalry with Winter Park is renewed once again.
“We had eight turnovers in the Timber Creek game. That basically tells us you can’t win with mistakes. Right now we’re young, but we’ll get better,” head coach Phil Ziglar said.
With a win this week, the team will avoid their first 0-3 start in over 10 years.
