As captain of the swimming and water polo team, along with participating in three clubs may seem like a challenge to manage, but senior William Stone took the challenge and maintained a 4.0 grade point average.

“I think my biggest motivators [to keep my grades up] were my parents and my desire to get into a great college,” Stone said.

He views becoming a valedictorian as an indicator of success; however, Stone, enjoys playing golf and watching The Princess Bride.

“I like to fool around and be silly,” Stone said.

But school is not all about bogeys and giant rats in caves.

“As a students, [my biggest struggle] was learning how to study.  Personally. it was the amount of activities that I had to juggle at any given time throughout the year while maintaining my best performance in all areas,” Stone said.

That struggle reared its ugly head in the form of AP Physics B.

“My hardest class was AP Physics B because I spent so much time studying and working extra problems to learn the concepts,” Stone said.

Becoming valedictorian is an unimaginable feat, and with such an accomplishment comes advice for a younger generation hoping to achieve a similar goal.

“[To freshmen and underclassmen], do everything to the best of your ability and you will have the best high school career that you possibly can,” Stone said.

Stone will be going to Notre Dame University in the fall to study biology and economics with the intention of going to medical school.
