In a home game, Feb. 25, the softball team played Cypress Creek High School.

The first inning started with the Lady Braves in the field and junior Meghan Mansfield on the mound.  Over and over again the Lady Braves caught fly-balls and tagged players out before they could score a run.

When it was time for the Lady Braves to bat, Ciara McCoy scored the first of 10 runs in the first inning.

The Lady Braves remained consistent in their performance. Adriana Grip hit a single allowing two of her teammates to make a run. By the end of the second inning the score was 13-0.

In the third inning the Lady Braves spirits were high, as their teammates were at-bat they’d yell encouraging chants for the player and bang on empty paint buckets. By the end of the inning the score was 15-0.

The mercy rule ended the game early in the third inning.

The girls (7-1) will travel to Dr. Phillips High School to play the Panthers (5-4) at 6 p.m. Feb. 27.
