On Thursday, Jan. 15, the boys’ soccer team took on Lake Nona in a tough game.
In the first half, the boys keep their heads up and battled a the strong team. The offense and defense worked together to keep the ball away from Lake Nona as much as possible. Ten minutes in, Lake Nona was able to sneak in a close goal. A few moments later Lake Nona scored again bringing the score to 0-2.
After two goals, goalie Riley Bassett, junior, kept his head forward for the rest of the half, blocking two of Nona’s shots. At the end of the first half the score was still 0-2.
Coming back from halftime, the Braves offense and defense came out firm. Senior Nicholas Gonzalez led the team moving the ball up and down the field countless times.
As the game got closer to ending, the tension and stress built, but the Braves were able to keep the ball away from the Lions. The final score was 0-2.
The Braves ended the night with a tough loss bringing their record to 3-11-3. The boys’ soccer team will compete today, Friday, Jan. 15, at 7:30 p.m. against Ocoee at Ocoee.
