Friday night, Lady Braves volleyball took on the undefeated Bishop Moore team.

The Lady Braves came out ready to play as junior Sydney Ritten led the team with the first kill of the night. Lady Braves won the first set 25-19.

Game two started with a kill from sophomore Erin Carter; however, the Lady braves lost the second set 17-25.

By game three the Lady Braves were determined. Senior Sarah Chapman tipped the ball over the net to earn the first point. Lady Braves came out on top in game three with a score of 25-18.

In game four senior Marissa Hackett and Erin Carter both got one kill after another; although Lady Braves lost the fourth set 16-25, they were fixed on winning that last game.

Game five was neck and neck for the first few points until senior Morgan Smith dug the ball, saving it from hitting the ground and giving Carter the perfect opportunity to make a kill. The Lady Braves won, 15-12, beating Bishop Moore for the first time in eight years.

The Lady Braves will play West Orange at West Orange on Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
