In an effort to win the district champions title, the girls and boys water polo teams started their games strong.

Senior Cardinal Hastings and sophomore River Hastings sealed the first quarter with two goals after C. Hastings gained possession of the ball over their opponent, the Timber Creek Wolves. After the first quarter the Lady Braves led 2-0.

C. Hastings started the second quarter with another goal. Soon after her goal, junior Grace McGee followed with another successful shot. The girls ended the quarter 6-0.

Sophomore Caroline Wenzel made the first goal of the third quarter. Senior Molly Houston stole the ball from the Wolves limiting their chances of scoring.

A Timber Creek Wolf scored their first two goals in the last quarter of the district match. Soon after, R. Hastings scored again bringing the score to 12-1.

At the end of the fourth quarter the Lady Braves defeated the Wolves, 12-2, earning the district champions title.

Seniors Samuel Gentry-Mickleson, Andy Hoogvorst and sophomore Ethan Mortenson  led the Braves with goals as they took on the University Cougars. The Cougars successfully scored three goals in the first and second quarters despite senior goalie Micah Kinney’s efforts to block the shots. The Braves ended the second quarter ahead, 10-2.

The boys started the third quarter with the advantage of winning the swim off. With possession of the ball, senior Thomas Moore scored twice in a row. Senior Ryan Paule also scored his first goal of the game in this quarter. After a penalty caused the Braves to be a man down, the Cougars scored their third goal of the night.

The Cougars could not score on the Braves in the fourth quarter. The boys ended 19-3. They came out victorious winning the title of district champions.
