What do you teach? I teach American Sign Language 1-3.
Why did you decide to teach ASL? I love the language and I love being able to share it with others.
Where did you graduate from? University of North Florida, where I majored in American Sign Language/English interpreting.
What made you want to be a teacher? I want to work with people who are as excited about learning the language as much as I am.
If you were only able to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? DiGiorno‘s BBQ chicken pizza.
What is your ideal vacation? Gatlinburg, Tenn. in the mountains. I love mountains, outdoors and the cold. I like rural areas more than urban ones; I get enough sun and rain in Florida.
What was the best advice you have ever received? Nothing is permanent. No matter how crazy and awful things can get, you should always keep your head up because nothing lasts forever.
Describe one of the best memories of your childhood. I had a tiny pocket scooter and I remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever. I would ride it all over my neighborhood.
Describe your ideal day. I come to school on time and completely prepared, all of my kids are quiet, they do their work and I do not forget my lunch.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now? I want to own a large scale company for sign language interpreters in the Central Florida and Tampa community. I already own one but my goal in life is to become a successful business owner like my parents.
