What is your role on campus?
I am an administrative dean in discipline.
Before you were a dean, what did you do?
I was a teacher for 11 years in New York City and taught biology. I also worked as a disciplinary dean.
What made you want to become a dean?
I wanted to help kids further. I knew that this would be a better opportunity to be able to help children. I wanted to form more relationships with students. I want to help as much as I can.
What are you most excited for this year?
A lot of things. I just moved here from New York so it is a different atmosphere. This beautiful school, the new beginning I have and all of the exciting things that are surely to come.
What is your fast food order?
Taco Bell. I usually get a crunchwrap and soft tacos.
What are some of your hobbies?
I am a pastry chef. I went to culinary school and I got my degree in professional pastry art. I bake and create things, sweet things. That’s my thing. It actually started as a way for me to relieve stress. Then it turned into a professional thing.
Why did you decide to go to culinary school?
It’s always something that I’ve always wanted to do. Baking and creating is always something that brings me absolute joy and serenity. I wanted to become trained properly, because originally I taught myself. I figured I have the time and it is something I’ve always wanted to do. I was living in New York, and some of the best culinary schools are there so I said why not? It was tough because I was teaching, working as a dean and going to school at night. Whenever you want something and you really want it, you get it done.
Are you excited to be a Boone Brave?
Absolutely, it is magical here. It really is. That’s the best way I can explain it. I am super excited and happy to be here.
