After a run-off for president Monday, Daniela Gomez, Kristen Harding, Ronald Heinkel, Sydney Gregory and Baylee Thomas will represent the class of 2014.
“[Freshman Class Council] sets [students] apart as leaders right off the bat,” freshman adviser Jamie Hoffmann said. “It gets them involved right away, and helps them form friends in a huge campus.”
The freshman council’s duties include participating in events the homecoming parade, Braves Brawl, and Green-Up Boone as well as administering the Powder Bowl and Pasta for Pennies. Even if one is not an officer, Hoffmann encourages students to participate in these events and attend class meetings. The schedule for council sessions will be determined after the election and will be posted on the hilights.org calendar upon availability.
