The walls are covered in spray painted designs adorned with local artists’ works. The crowd of bustling thirty-somethings might not seem like the types to appreciate fine art, but they certainly know how to track down a delicious burger after a long day’s work.
Located in chic Thornton Park, Graffiti Junktion is a combination of art and a traditional American burger bar. Upon first glance the restaurant may look more like a decrepit shack than a moderately priced diner. However, one should not be deceived by first impressions, as the food is delicious.
For appetizers, diners should choose the spinach and artichoke dip ($7). The dip is filling and loaded with melted cheese. Served with tri-color tortilla chips and spicy salsa the starter is the perfect choice for starting off one’s meal.
The menu holds a wide selection of burgers from one that features ham, egg, American cheese and onions ($12) to a mushroom topped beef patty ($12). One that is particularly delicious is the Lone Star ($9) with barbecue sauce and bacon. The thick sandwich is impossible to finish, leaving diners with leftovers.
With theme nights, Junktion offers a fun night out for any high school student. Some highlights include trivia nights on Monday at 7 p.m. and Local Artist Showcases on Thursday nights.
The artistic and delicious restaurant is fantastic for anyone craving a fun night downtown. Whether it’s to catch a quick bite or dinner with friends, Junktion provides a unique experience for any diner.
