Thinking about college can be overwhelming at times. If one is not stressing out over grades, he is stressing out over the expense of college. Little do most students know that there are a variety of scholarships available. It  is basically free money for the taking. Below is a list of scholarships that require a minimal amount of work on the applicants behalf .Deadlines are March and April, so don’t delay.

Title: Mayor Richard T. Crotty Valencia – UCF Alumni 2+2 High School Scholarship

Amount: $4,000 over four years

Criteria: minimum of 3.0 grade point average, transcript, commitment to school and community service, minimum 24 credit hours

Title: Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program

Amount: up to $10,000

Criteria: must be a high school graduate as of March 15, 2012, someone aged 21 years or older must nominate student, be a contributor to the community

Title:  The got milk? Campaign Scholarship

Amount: $7,500

Criteria: Contest, Student must be nominated and excel in academics, athletics and community service

Title: The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

Amount:  up to $7,500

Criteria: Be a graduating minority high school senior, U.S. citizen, show evidence of financial need, show leadership qualities

Title: Make a Difference Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 non-renewable

Criteria: current resident of Florida and have been for two years, U.S. citizen, graduating senior of Boone High School, minimum 2.5 grade point average, present proof of registration at a postsecondary institution, transcript, 300 word essay of “Contributing to the Community”

Title: Anderson and Moopen College Scholarship Award

Amount: $1,000 (one time)

Criteria: accepted into a two and four year college, grade point average, answer “What Keeps You Busy Outside of Schoolwork”, essay on “Who do you consider the most influential person in your life, why?”
