A funkadelic frozen dessert shop in Ivanhoe Village, Twisted Bliss redefines one’s concept of the typical ice cream joint. Serving ice cream, italian ice and gelati, it provides an unforgettable ice cream adventure.
Located on North Orange Avenue in College Parks’ Antique district, the Tie Dye inferno is impossible to miss, complete with a fenced eating area, where one can purchase and decorate sections of the pavement.
When it comes to their frozen treats, variety is the key word. Twisted Bliss has 20 constantly changing italian ice flavors, and one can choose a combination of any number of flavors. From Arnold Palmer to Avatar, to Banana Foster to Creamsicle, these flavors are as creative as they are delicious.
One orders from the main window, next to a rack of peace sign paraphernalia, ranging from tie dye bandanas to Twisted Bliss t-shirts. It is not uncommon to see the groovy staff members hoola-hooping outside the shop to attract customers.
On the Ice cream side, Twisted Bliss offers soft served vanilla, chocolate, or swirl, which can be mixed with any combination of italian ices to make Gelati. While the italian ice is cool and refreshing, this tornado of flavor and texture provides an interesting as well as satisfying treat. In addition to aforementioned treats, milkshakes, malts and root beer floats have been added to Twisted’s appetizing arsenal of assorted delicacies.
Desserts come in three different sizes, Poppa, Momma, and Flower Child are all priced under five dollars. Twisted Bliss also participates in the BuyLocalOrlando program, offers 10% off total purchases to those who present their BuyLocalOrlando card.
Overall, Twisted Bliss is a shining example of how a non-corporatized ice cream shop can still thrive in today’s mass produced world of Dairy Queen and Mochi. One would regret passing up on this amazing edible experience.
