SHOPPING WITH AN ADDED BONUS. To help support Boone, one only has to click the mouse and shop online. photo/FUEL MY SCHOOL

It only takes a couple of clicks and new shoes from Target can be sent to one’s house in the next two weeks.  Not only will the purchase benefit the buyer, but it can benefit the school too.

Now, the ability to buy clothes, cars and make donations to Boone are available at fuelmyschool.com.  This website allows one to shop at online brand name sites like Target, Best Buy and Macy’s with ease.

Career and Technical Education coordinator Susan Fulford created a school page for students and families to shop online and support the school.

“I haven’t used the site [myself]; however, [I know] there are many retail businesses that offer a discount that most people utilize,” Fulford said.

With each purchase one makes, 2 to 6 percent of the total goes to help fund technology department on campus. The funds would be spent as principal Dr. Margaret McMillen sees fit to help improve technology, such as buying new computers and programs for classrooms.

To help support the school’s technology fund, go to fuelmyschool.com, type Boone High School into the Find “Your School” box in the top right hand side of the site and click on the icon with the bravehead. The new page will display the list of the stores from which buyers can shop at and benefit the school. There is no price increase using this site and Boone benefits with each click.
