In the district championship game on Friday, the boys varsity baseball team took on the Dr.Phillips Panthers.
The game started with a home run in the bottom of the first by Frank Grandinette bringing in two runs, himself and Robert Coble. The inning ended with a tied score 2-2 against Dr.Phillips.
In the second inning the Braves held DP. Mitchell Barati scored from a tag-up at third to home off of a pop-fly by Bradley Irwin. The second inning was 3-2, Braves.
By the third inning, DP hit a homerun scoring two runs, making the score 3-5. Then in sixth inning Dr. Phillips scored again, 3-6.
The top of the seventh started with a two-run home run by the pitcher, Ian McKinney making the score 5-6. The game ended with 1-2-3 outs by Dr.Phillips, however, the Braves lost 5-6.
The boys will play Olympia away at 4 p.m. Thursday.
