At the corner of Ferncreek and Michigan, sits Johnny’s Fillin’ Station best known for the “Best Burger” in Orlando for a decade.
Two years ago came the birth of Johnny’s Other Side. While Fillin’ Station is a restaurant, it has more of a bar feel. As a way to appeal to a casual crowd, owner John Burell opened The Other Side, located across the parking lot, as a family friendly addition.
The size of this venue is not equivalent to the Fillin’ Station; the indoor seating is a single row of stools along the dark wood bar and which holds a room that one can rent out for parties or such. They have assigned the outdoors area for the customers wanting a seat in view of a flat screen TV and entertainment for all ages.
The overall vibe is trendier and more family oriented then the Fillin’ Station with the rowdy customers, loud tunes and smokey environment. The Other Side provides a soothing environment with quality entrees for all ages. Their award winning burger is the Freddy’s “Feed the Big Fella” Burger ($9.60) a bacon cheese burger with avocado slices and topped off with a fried egg cooked to your liking, a real must try for one who loves a good burger. They offer brunch Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The brunch menu offers a variety of gourmet meals, such as the Chipotle Shrimp and Grits ($6.75). They also offer their famous Chicken & Waffles ($8.95), served on their homemade Belgian waffles with fried chicken sausage, gravy and cheese.
Overall, Johnny’s Other Side gives one the complete experience with reasonable prices and an overall good environment for any age. If you are looking for a good night out with friends this is definitely the place to check out.
