On Wednesday night, the Lady Braves varsity basketball team lost to the Timber Creek Wolves in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium. They ended the game with a score of 29-32.
In the first half of the game, junior Kendall Byerly made two three-point shots contributing a total of six points to the team’s score and ended the first half 15-13.
Freshman Sadie Desroches started off the third quarter with a layup. Following the layup, senior Bailey Florin made a three-point shot.
The Lady Braves were down by one point when Byerly made a three-point shot just as her coach called a timeout. While everyone was cheering, the referees announced that her shot did not count because of the timeout that was called. Knowing the game was over, Florin purposely fouled the other team. The girl on the other team made the two foul shots, increasing the lead and made it impossible to win.
The Lady Braves will play Pine Ridge on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium.
