In front of a crowd of 50, on March 7 in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium, Students and faculty duked it out for the second annual Nothing But Nets student faculty game held March 7 in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium the Old Guys (faculty) won 44-40 over the students.
Although older than the students, the faculty started out by stealing the ball right after the students won the tip off.
Ending the first quarter, the faculty were in the lead 9-6. Point Guard for the student team Donald Hill tried to rally his team but just could not seem to get a call from the referee. (Dean Korey Washington)
Students and faculty went shot for shot in the second quarter. Students cut the deficit to only two, starting the second half.
After a big quarter from faculty center Joe Windt, the Old Guys went into the fourth with a 31-26 lead pulling away from the students.
With a close come back by the students, the faculty come out with the win 44-40.
The game, organized up by the Sophomore Class, was a charity for the Russell Home for Atypical Children, a charity that helps children with disabilities. Sophomore Class donated a percentage of all admission and t-shirt sales to help pay for the residents living expenses.
