Competing gainst 16 different teams, the girls placed ninth in their track meet at Lake Highland on March 9.

In triple jump junior Courtney Patz and freshman Victoria Verzi placed fourth and eighth, respectively.  Patz had a distance of 32′ 8.75″, while Verzi had a distance of 30 feet.

Junior Miranda Miller placed seventh in shot put with a distance of 30’7″.

Patz and junior Mackenzie Williamson both tied for sixth in pole vaulting with heights of 7 feet.

Girls placed third in the 4 by 800 with a time of 10:26.46.

Senior Justice Donald suffered a pulled hamstring during the preliminaries of the 100 meter dash and placed seventh with a time of 12.68.  She was unable to compete in finals.

In the 1600 meter run, junior Alexandria Meneses ran a season best with a time of 5:43.01, earning her a sixth place finish.

Sophomore Claire Collins placed sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:31.80.

After Donald’s injury, senior Monique Soriano subbed in for her in the 4 by 400 meter relay with Collins, senior Rhapsody Arias and freshman Jordan Crawford.  They placed fifth with a time of 4:17.96.

Overall, the girls placed ninth with 26.40 points.  The boys placed third with 76 points.

The next meet will be a freshmen and sophomore only meet held at Showalter Field on March 16 at 8 a.m.
