Up to bat first in the first inning, the Colonial Grenadiers completed two runs, in the baseball game on April 16.
At the end of the first inning the team was down 0-2.
In the second inning Quentin Davis’ hit resulted in a run batted in, making the score 1-2. Sophomore Cooper Jeffers pitched to the Grenadiers in the bottom of the second inning holding them at two runs.
Junior Blake Sanderson hit a foul ball and struck out in the top of the third inning. In the bottom of the third inning Colonial completed a run, making the score 1-3.
At bat in the top of the fourth inning, senior Mitchell Barati made it to second base. Sophomore Ramon Alejo was up next and struck out. Davis batted next and made it to first base. Barati and Davis each completed a run, tying the score 3-3. Anderson scored a run and put the team in the lead 4-3. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Alejo caught a hit from the Grenadiers keeping them from a possible run.
In the top of the sixth inning, Davis completed a solo home run, making the score 5-3. Sophomore Adam Anderson completed another run putting the team up by three, 6-3. Finishing the top of the sixth inning, Blake Sanderson completed a run from Ian McKinney’s RBI, making the score 7-3.
Senior Dylan Dragon made a walk in the top of the seventh inning putting senior Johnny Townsend on second base. Dragon and Townsend each completed a run, making the score 9-3. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Sanderson caught a Colonia hit, which kept them from scoring.
The game ended 9-3.
The baseball team will play Bishop Moore at Bishop Moore at 7 p.m.
