On Dec. 2, in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium, the boys basketball team (3-2) defeated Lake Nona (3-2).

University of Central Florida commit, senior Barry “BJ” Taylor began the first quarter by winning the tip off.  Taylor and senior Jeremy Bouton quickly increased the score, bringing it to 17-8 at the end of the quarter. Four seconds before the end of the first half, the score was 34-19.

At the start of the second half, senior William Mateer assisted Taylor in making the shot that put the team 20 points ahead. Lake Nona struggled to catch up as Taylor made two consecutive baskets, putting the score at 63-51. Taylor scored the winning dunk, ending the game with 37 points.  The team beat the Lions 66-51.

The boys next game is on Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Winter Park against Orlando Christian Prep.
