On Jan. 10, in the Orlando Christian Prepatory School Gymnasium, the girls basketball team played a close game to the Lake Highland Highlanders as part of the Showdown in O-Town tournament.

The two teams battled neck and neck in the first quarter. Byerly scored bringing the game to 11-5. Junior Cassie Ketchum scored to help end the first quarter 13-12.

Throughout the course of the second half of the game, the Highlanders stepped up their game. Byerly shot a 3-pointer, which brought the score to 46-52. They battled for the ball, but the Highlanders ended with a victory, 46-54.  Kendall Byerly led the team with 12 points.

The girls travel to Dr. Phillips Monday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.
