On Tuesday, March 18, the girls lacrosse team battled University in a game that was reminiscent of the Edgewater football game.

Senior Kiernan Mehan started strong by scoring three goals within the first 10 minutes of the game. Soon though, University stayed ahead for the next 10 minutes. However, the girls made a slight comeback going into halftime with junior Dora Moratovic scoring and Mehan making another goal. The score going into halftime was 5-8.

Going into the second half, University scored another goal but senior Sydney Jones scored her first goal for the night to show that the girls were not out of the running quite yet.

With five minutes left in the game, Muratovic, sophomore Lauren Rucker and Mehan all scored goals. Then, University fought back scoring another goal, putting the score at 9-10.

As the end of the game approached, the Lady Braves refused to give up.  Their yells grew louder and they became more aggressive. They were not going to let the Cougars win. In the last 38 seconds, Mehan scored her sixth goal, tying the score, 11-11.

In the last six seconds, freshman Emily Darr heaved the ball into the net, right past the goalie, causing the Braves to win by one point, 11-10.
