The Lady Braves defeated the Lake Nona Lions on March 19 and continued their seven game win streak.

The game began with strong defense on both sides; however, neither team managed to get any key hits. The score remained 0-0 through the fourth inning with no major plays.

In the bottom of the fifth senior Kathleen Nelson hit an RBI, bringing home senior Leslie Cintolo which put the first run on the board. Sophomore Meghan Mansfield was next at bat with the bases loaded. Mansfield hit a triple RBI out to left field, 4-0.

Lake Nona attempted to catch up in the top of the sixth with a big RBI to the fence to score their first and only run. The Lions fell short thanks to junior Chase Cassady’s pitching.

The Lady Braves’ defense remained strong through the seventh inning. Nice plays by Cintolo and freshman Adriana Garip contributed to a short inning, allowing no runners on base. The game ended 4-1 and the Lady Braves achieved another win; their record now 11-4-1.

The next game is home  April 1 at 6 p.m., where they will take on the West Orange Warriors for the second time this season. In the third game of the season, the Lady Braves suffered their first loss to them, 2-6.
