On Feb. 19, the girl’s water polo team defeated Edgewater keeping their perfect record (3-0).
In the first quarter the girls came out strong. Senior Carlyn Attaway made two goals, and seniors Camille Rimmer and Maddie Guetzole along with sophomore Isis Miller each made one goal. Edgewater retaliated, but Leah Pancake Gratz made a save, ending the quarter 5-0.
Starting the second quarter Rimmer made three goals. Followed by back-to-back to saves by Pancake Gratz and junior Kennedy Anderson and freshman Grace McGee scoring goals.
Attaway opened the third quarter with a goal and Edgewater followed making their first goal of the night. Attaway quickly responded with a another goal, but Edgewater got a break away and added one to their board, ending the quarter 12-2.
In the forth quarter, sophomore Katie Cook scored her first goal of the night, then Grace McGee made a goal. Gueztole then made three goals in a row. The girls ended the game 17-2.
On Friday night, the girls battled the Hagerty High School but were not as victorious. With their starting defender, Mackenzie Mock, out with a concussion the girls had a tough time holding the Huskies. They took their first loss (3-1) falling to them 4-13.
The girls next game home game is Feb. 24 against Freedom High School. Their game begins at 6 p.m. and the boys play at 7 p.m.
