On March 10, the boys’ lacrosse team played district rival Timber Creek. After a knee clenching game, the team won 11-10 in overtime.

The boys struck first against the Wolves with a goal from sophomore Landon Marckese assisted by senior Conor Curry. Senior John Patrick Friend scored the second goal of the night putting the team ahead 2-0.

After five minutes and two goals from the Braves, Timber Creek scored putting the score 2-1. The Wolves scored again tying the score at 2-2.

Two minutes later Curry capitalized on the man up with his second goal of the game putting the Braves ahead 3-2.

Timber Creek tied the game again at 3-3, but Tanner Woods scored putting the Braves ahead once again.

In the final seconds of the first quarter, sophomore Davis Pittenger scored with an assist from freshman starter Jack Reddeck ending the quarter 5-3.

Senior goalie Joseph Kissick started the second quarter with a save and senior Graham Pittenger had a steal.

After three goals from the Wolves, coach Elliott Whitton called a time-out to help the boys get their heads together.

Marckese, Reddeck and junior Palmer Collins all took nice shots, but Timber Creek’s goalie successfully blocked them.

Timber Creek scored two more goals in the second quarter ending the first half 5-8.

The team struck first in the second half with a goal from Curry assisted by Collins.

D. Pittenger scored his second goal of the night with an assist from Marckese catching up to the Wolves, 7-8.

Reddeck scored his first goal of the game tying the score at 8-8 with seven minutes left in the third quarter. Senior Eric Bergin checked a Timber Creek player stopping him from shooting and stealing the ball for a shot.

Kissick had another save and junior Mitchell Capps added a steal.

Marckese capitalized on another man up with an assist from junior Luke Magley putting the team ahead 9-8. After four straight goals from the team, the Wolves capitalize on their own man up with three minutes left in the third quarter.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Magley picked up a loose ball and scored putting the team ahead again, 10-9.

Reddeck got a penalty for slashing and Timber Creek scored on the man up tying the Braves and ending the fourth quarter 10-10.

The game went into overtime for only a few seconds before Magley scored his second goal of the night ending the game 11-10.

The boys’ next game is on March 13 against Freedom High School away at 6 p.m.
