In their match against Celebration on March 16, the boys volleyball team  won in the fourth set, 3-1, making their record 3-6.

The first set started close with Boone in the lead after a kill from junior Jason Hock making the score 6-4.  Despite a kill from junior Jon Bartelt, the boys fell behind, 9-11, and lost the first set of the match against Celebration, 16-25.

The second set began with a kill from sophomore Daniel Hermida.  After an ace from Hock and a second kill from Hermida, the score was 9-5.  The boys stayed in the lead for the remainder of the set and won the second set of the match, 25-17.

The third set started with Celebration in the lead despite a kill from Hock and ace from junior Nicholas Duffy leaving the score 8-10.  The Braves quickly caught up, winning the next five points including a tip from sophomore Karl Schaefer making the score 13-10.  The boys kept a narrow lead for remainder of the set and, after a back row kill from Hermida, won the set 25-22.

Junior Blake Garrison won the first point of the fourth set with a kill.  The boys kept a steady lead for the remainder of the set up until the very end.  Celebration scored eight points in a row while the Braves only needed one point to win the set and the match.  The boys managed to make the final point and won the match in the fourth set, 25-21.

On Saturday, March 21, the boys will take on the Bishop Moore Hornets (3-0), in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
