On Thursday, Oct. 1, the Lady Braves golf team (4-2) gained an automatic victory because only one Colonial player showed up for the match. Although Colonial forfeited, the teams choose to play for practice.

The second highest scorer on the team after Mia Edgar, junior Jewell Mickelson finished with 55 on nine holes. Hole one, her best of the day, she scored a bogey (par 4). Whereas on the same hole Colonial’s lone golfer shot an eagle (2 under par).

In the first group, Boone golfers, freshman Aoife Tobin and Jewell Mickelson shot double bogies on hole two (par 4).

Tobin ended the match with a 62; she completed the third hole in five strokes (par 4).

Scoring a double bogey on hole six, freshman Hailey Edwards completed the match with a 60.

The final Boone competitor, sophomore Grayson Balmer finished with a 63.

Come out and support Lady Braves golf as they move on to metros, Oct. 7 at Ventura.
