The team began the game against the University High School Cougars with sophomore Brittney Smith scoring two baskets in a row.
Senior Sadie Desroches made a basket to finish out the first quarter, 10-1.
Sophomore Cassady Quintana and senior Emily Colvin scored consecutive layups to start the second quarter. Quintana then made a three pointer, taking the score to 22-6. The Lady Braves held the Cougars to their six points with defensive plays throughout the second quarter.
Smith made the first basket of the third quarter, with senior Amanda Oliver making another to bring the score to 26-6.
The clock read three seconds as Desroches passed the ball to Oliver. Oliver took the shot and made a three pointer in the last two seconds of the third quarter.
To start the fourth quarter, Oliver and junior Angeni Worley made consecutive baskets, taking the game to 33-6. The Cougars fouled the Braves three times in the last five mins of the fourth quarter, then Smith got a rebound and scored, bringing the score to 42-11.
The Braves finished the game 44-19 with the Cougars making a three-pointer in the last 30 seconds of the game. They will take on Evans Wednesday of next week at Evans at 7:30 p.m.
