On Tuesday night, Jan. 12, the Braves soccer team defeated Lake Nona High School (4-9-2) Lions at home, adding another win to their record.

In the beginning of the first half, the offense pushed forward, assisting sophomore Luca Bertola in scoring the first goal, three minutes into the game, making the score 1-0.

Within minutes, junior Matthew Barr scored again. After Bertolt injury, freshman Colin Gopaul gets injured and substituted out for Bertola.

The first half ended, 2-0. With temperatures in the 50s, the boys ran suicides during halftime to keep warm.

Starting the second half, senior Riley Bassett saved two Lions attempts at goal. Near the end of the game, sophomore Jonathan de Lucca received a yellow card. The final score was 2-0 with another win for the boys, making their record 5-9-2.

The boys’ next home game is against Ocoee High School (2-12-2) on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
