Rubio’s Coastal Grill brings mouthwatering and unique flavors to Lake Nona that disprove doubts critics may have on the restaurant. Rubio’s presents itself to the locals as a place which is willing to new culinary ideas. With a shared eagerness for quality seafood and a lack of hesitation toward culinary innovation, Rubio’s fused cultural plates comprises locals, leaving them not wanting Qdoba nor Chipotle.

As soon as one enters the room, the restaurant is filled with vibrant and cheerful employees. The employees are more than happy to help with any problems one may have, whether it is deciding what to order or addressing any issues with the food after delivery. Right off the bat, one can tell Rubio’s is proud and confident about what they serve, and their excellent service proves that they have strong reason to believe so.

The menu ranges from seafood to Mexican style entrées, but do not fret, there are kid menus too if one is looking for a cheaper and smaller portion size. A personal favorite, the Chipotle Ranch Chicken Burrito ($7.99), consists of chicken, fire-roasted corn, Mexican rice, black beans, crispy tortilla strips and creamy chipotle ranch wrapped in a warm flour tortilla with toasted cheese. The item is served with a side of tortilla chips. While the burrito does create a slight mess on the bottom that does not prevent customers from tasting all the flavors.

Not only does Rubio’s provide Mexican food, they also sell remarkable seafood items. Their fish tacos are so delicious they have won an award and are recognized in California as the #1 fish tacos in the state. Voted #1 Fish Tacos in California by USA Today’s Readers’ Poll Best of 2018, the Original Fish Taco served with Wild Alaska Pollock is cooked to crispy perfection in beer-batter. The fish is topped with a white sauce, mild salsa and cabbage and served on a warm, stone-ground corn tortilla.

Alongside the entrées, Rubio’s offers side choices like tortilla chips and guacamole, black beans, pinto beans, Mexican rice and citrus rice.

To top it all off with dessert, the delicious warm cinnamon churros ($1.29) have just the right amount of crunch as well as the melting in the mouth aspect which brings Rubio’s churros to the next level. It is highly recommended that one gets the churro. Without a doubt, it will not disappoint. Additionally, Rubio’s offers Ghirardelli chocolate chip oatmeal and snickerdoodle cookies, caramel ganache brownies with caramel nestled in the middle. The brownies have a cake-like bottom and thin chocolate topping. Lastly, the limón coconut bars have a lemon-lime custard layered between coconut shortbread.

As fresh casual cuisine goes, Rubio’s brings locals an extraordinary restaurant and conveniently the price there is right, hence the star rating. Rubio’s offers impeccable service and a peaceful environment to enjoy a meal. Efficiently, Rubio’s provides quick service with their website to order online for delivery, pick-up, and go and receive more information on their catering services.

The tasteful, jaw dropping food served, friendly service and vibrate colors make Rubio’s the best option for satisfying a seafood or Mexican craving in Lake Nona.
