On Monday, Sept. 13, Fellowship of Christian Athletes kicked the year off with a gathering that included free food, a message and a free concert. The night began in the common area outside of the auditorium, where attendees enjoyed free hamburgers and desserts. Then inside the auditorium, David Miller from Discovery Church spoke about faith and spiritual growth. Bellarive, a local alternative worship band, played four of their original songs.

FCA meets on Mondays for either huddles, which include food, music and a speaker, smaller Bible studies or field days. Senior captain Alexa Rossi is hopeful for the coming year.

“My hope for FCA is to learn to listen to the Holy Spirit as a unit and as a team in order to reach out to everyone on campus. We want people to understand that FCA is a place for broken people. We also want to grow more in Christ and as a community,” Rossi said.
