On Nov. 20, in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium, the boys basketball team lost to the undefeated Evans Trojans.

The first quarter began with a win of the tip-off from senior Barry “BJ” Taylor and a nearly tied game.  The margin between the scores increased throughout the first quarter and junior Jeremy Bouton made a layup bringing the score to 5-18. The half ended 26-34 with Bouton’s contribution of five points.

At the start of the second half, Sanderson made a three and team worked to improve the point margin.  The third quarter ended 32-54.  Evans player Prince Atkins, senior, received a technical foul against Taylor, resulting in Taylor shooting two free throws, making one of them.

Taylor lead the team with 23 of the 44 total points and made 12 of his 17 free throws during the game.  In the forth quarter junior Cole Butler was the last one to score for the Braves bringing the score to 44-73.

After a disappointing defeat, their next game will be Friday, Nov. 22, in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium against Apopka (1-0).
