Director Rich Moore (The Simpsons) shows viewers an inside look to video games. Moore has countless plays on words such as Game Central Station opposed to Grand Central Station.
The reasoning behind Ralph’s hopes to be seen as good is Fix-It Felix Jr. (Jack McBrayer, 30 Rock), the protagonist throughout the film. To gain acceptance among his fellow gamer’s, Ralph must win a gold medal to show that he can be good. On Ralph’s mission to earn the medal, he stumbles upon a games multiplying creature and both board a spacecraft, landing them in Sugar Rush. In the land of Sugar Rush, Ralph encounters Vanellope Von Schweetz, (Sarah Silverman, Bob’s Burgers). Unlike the video games title, nothing is sweet in Sugar Rush, just bitter.
With spectacular computer-animation and vivid colors, Wreck-It Ralph leaves moviegoers engulfed in the video game world. The video gamer’s movements have viewers feeling as though they are a character, like Ralph.
If one is looking for family fun and humor, Wreck-It Ralph is a movie to see.
