A group of teens. 11 different lives, different actions, and different thoughts. But all of them having one thing in common: the party.

In this book by Tom Leveen, the “party” of the year is coming and all the characters are going, or thinking about it at least, but with different intentions. Some want to make some friends, make their parents upset, drink too much, confront their ex or to say goodbye. But no matter what the reason, they’re going.

This easy read novel is perfect for high schoolers. It may not hit everything exactly on the head , but it touches at something almost every student has experienced at least once in their four years of high school.

Beckett is a young girl who has lost both parents, Morgan is the sassy little brat that has it all, or so she thinks, Daniel is the drunken flirt and Anthony was the high school all-star that loses it at the party.

The technique Leveen uses allows the reader to connect with each of the characters and their point of view by allowing each to be the narrator of their perception of the drama, romance and friendships surrounding this party.

With each character, we follow their hardships and adventures of the night, as well as see into their past. All in all, the book is an easy read that may hit close to home with high school students. Though they are not real, high schoolers can relate.
Four out of Five stars.
