Although the previews of The Devil Inside had people cowering in fear and covering their eyes, the final product was lacking that scare-factor.

This documentary style film was a different reproduction of other recent movies such as Paranormal Activity and The Last Exorcism, all dealing with a form of devil or demon living through a human body. The Devil Inside had potential to be interesting and scary, but it was not produced to its full potential making it boring and a waste of time.

Isabella Rossi (Fernanda Andrade) tells a story about an event from her childhood and it was always just her talking about it.  It would have appealed more to the viewer to see it happening while she explained it, rather than see a few pictures.

Watching Isabella drive her car or sit and talk was extremely uninteresting and this happened often throughout the film. The acting was partially juvenile from mainly the cameraman, Michael (Ionut Grama). Every time he spoke in front of the camera he looked terrified like he did not want to be there and he wasn’t supposed to be there, which didn’t look right. The other actors did not seem as unwanted and their acting was good compared to Michael’s.

This movie had some scenes that would surprise the viewer and possibly cause a scream or jump, but not many.  Overall the the movie is too predictable.

The Devil Inside contained innuendo and hilarious remarks causing the entire theater to burst into laughter.   The sexual remarks during the exorcisms is supposedly actually said during an exorcism, yet here it relaxes the viewer by cracking a smile and laughing during one of the most intense scenes. It would have been a better mixture if there was more to be afraid of and not just what was shown in the previews. 1 of 4 stars
