On Friday night, the Lady Braves basketball took on the Lake Nona Lions in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium.
Starting the game, senior Bailey Florin made a clean layup and a three point shot. She contributed a total of 10 points just during the first quarter.
The Lady Braves ended the first quarter 12-7. Both teams had very strong defenses which made the mood of the gym very intense.
In the second quarter, Florin made four of the six free throws and scored another four points. Freshman Sadie Desroches and freshman Amanda Oliver added two points each to the lead over the Lions. They ended the first half 24-17.
In the fourth quarter, Desroches added an additional seven points and made one of her two free throws. Florin also made two of her five free throws.
By the end of the game, Florin made a total of 20 points for her team and Desroches made 14 to secure the win against the Lions 40-34. The girls will face the Timber Creek Wolves on Dec. 5 in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
