On Dec. 4, the boys varsity basketball team took on West Orange in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium. Senior Robert Irwin started the game with a three pointer. With 2 minutes left in the first quarter, junior Barry Taylor  scored three layups. The team ended the first half  34-33.

With a minute left in the game, Taylor took two free throws, and scored one. As West Orange crept up to the Braves on the scoreboard, the suspense in the gym intensified. At the end of the third, the boys were trailing West Orange by 10 points.

Senior Robert Rimmer scored two baskets and after a rebound added two more points to the score. The team was now only two points behind. With the crowd on the edge of their seats, Irwin made both his free throw shots, putting the Braves back in the lead. The final score read 64-54.

The team will take on Lake Nona on Friday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m.
