In a tri-meet, the varsity boy’s wrestling team defeated Ocoee, Oak Ridge and Colonial on Wednesday night, Dec. 1.

Out of the gate against Ocoee, the boys won 66-15. Senior Quante Cobb pinned his opponent in 12 seconds. Joseph Holmes, senior and a team captain, also had a strong match and easily pinned his Ocoee opponent.

The boys defeated Oak Ridge 69-6. Strong matches by Benny Borrero and Darran Pennant who both pinned their Oak Ridge opponent after multiple rounds. Junior Alec Dulskis did not take down his opponent but won his match 8-2 to add three points to the overall score.

The final match against Colonial was successful with a final score of 69-12. Holmes suffered a leg injury and junior Robert Mercado suffered a shoud injury. In addition, Borrero suffered a minor injury with a bruise by his eye.

Catch the boy’s wrestling team at Lakeland for the Lakeland Holiday Invitational on Dec. 28 and 29, time is to be announced.
