Continuing their undefeated start 3-0, the girl’s water polo team beat Gateway 21-0 on Feb. 22.
The team took advantage of an overwhelming difference in speed and scored 10 goals on counterattack offense.
The girls took a quick lead in the first quarter and didn’t allow Gateway to catch up for the rest of the game. Sophomore Mackenzie Mock, junior Eleanor Clark and senior Nichole Clayton led the offense, scoring 10 of the team’s goals.
Junior Julia Hester led the team on defense from the center defense position, stopping Gateway from forming an offense near the goal. Junior goalkeeper Jenna Layton blocked 15 shots.
The next girl’s water polo game is Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. against University.
