They did it again. In their second game against Bishop Moore, the boys lacrosse team took home the district semi-finals game.

The Bishop Moore Hornets made the first three points of the game.

With only a minute left in the first quarter, junior Kevin Irwin scored the team’s first point of the night. Junior Bradley Connelly scored seconds after Irwin, bringing the score up 2-3.

Two minutes into the second quarter, the Hornets scored again. After fighting a battle in the second quarter, junior, Kevin Irwin, scored again with 30 seconds left, from an assist from senior Joseph Onderick. At the end of the first half, the boys were down one, 4-5.

After halftime, Connelly scored the first point of the quarter, tying the game. The team soon stole the lead with an unassisted goal by Onderick. The Hornets scored again, bringing the game to a tie again, 17 seconds later, Bishop Moore scored again. Three minutes before the third quarter ended, junior Dustin Driskell scored, tying the game again, 7-7.

Starting the fourth quarter, Connelly scored his third goal of the evening, putting the team back in the lead. Onderick scored minutes later with an assist from junior Kyle Irwin. The Hornet’s fought back, making another goal and staying behind. With two minutes left in the game, Onderick assisted sophomore Eric Bergin, who scored. The Hornet’s scored again, bringing the score up 10-9, but the boys took home the win.

Their next game is at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at Lake Highland.
