Producing his new hit single “Heart in My Hands,  Austin Mahone leaves fans begging for more.

Released April 16, “Heart in my Hands” is a piano version Mahone wrote himself.

The single is slow, sounding similar to the music produced by artists such as Justin Bieber‘s song “Nothing like us” and Cody Simpson’s song “Angel”. Similar to Bieber and Simpson, he was discovered through YouTube. Mahone won the “Icon of tomorrow” award at the JT-14 teen icon award show in 2012.

Although his voice has not matured as much as Bieber’s and Simpson’s, fans across the globe are becoming “Mahomies,” or Mahone fans. His fan base is constantly growing making him well known and successful.

Mahone will be one of Taylor Swift ‘s opening performances on her “Red” tour for select shows.

One of his most popular songs is “Say Somethin,”  released on iTunes in August 2012. This song is upbeat and is easy to dance to with friends.

Similar to the sound of “Say Somethin,” his single produced in February 2013, “Say you’re Just a Friend” featuring Flo Rida, is another upbeat hit by Mahone. “Say Somethin’” is a song that anyone can find themselves singing along to because of the catchy tune.

Unlike his previous music, “Heart in my Hands” is a new sound for Mahone. This piano version is not like his previous music which is upbeat and energetic whereas this cover is more of a slow, sentimental song. It is a song that anyone can relate to and is easy listening.

In “Heart in my Hands,” the lyrics have deeper meaning than other previous songs, such as “Say Somethin,” yet one hears the same verse over and over. The repetition is prevalent in every song he has produced so far.

In addition to repetition, even though he is 17 years old, his voice is higher than other pop artists, such as Simpson who is 16 but has a deeper voice. Although one can tell a difference in his voice between songs from 2011 to this recent music, Mahone’s music will continue to get better as his voice matures.

Despite his voice being high pitched, one finds himself singing along to his songs and getting them stuck in their head.
