On Jan. 21, the Lady Braves played a tough game against the Lake Mary Rams in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium.

The home team made the first point of the night. The Rams then scored the first 3-point shot of the night bringing it quickly to 1-3. Senior Kendall Byerly and freshman Angeni Worley helped increase the Lady Braves score ending the first quarter 12-5.

The two teams battled for the ball until junior Carlyn Attaway, scored the first basket of the second quarter. The Rams then called a timeout with the score at 15-5.

At halftime the scoreboard read 25-21. The opposing team scored a 3-pointer, putting the Rams and Lady Braves neck and neck at 25-25.

Lake Mary made their way back on top in the third quarter beginning with a 3-pointer that allowed them to break the tie. The third quarter ended with the Rams in the lead at 30-41.

Both teams scored multiple shots throughout the final quarter, battling for the win. Junior Cassandra Ketchum contributed two free throws and a 3-pointer to the final score of 46-52.

The Lady Braves will return when they take on Merritt Island High School on Jan. 22 in the Wayne Rickman Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m.
