On March 8, the boys track and field team competed at the Lake Highland Invitational against 22 other schools.

Senior Jamal Clark placed fourth in the boys triple jump with 40’10.25”. Clark also placed ninth in the high jump with 5’ 6”.

Junior Luis Rivera placed third in the shot put with 43’ 7” and sophomore Colby Ritten placed ninth with 39’ 1”

Senior Robert Christian Strange placed second in the discus with a 141’ 8” toss, and Rivera was right behind him with 119’ 3”.

Junior Anthony Henders placed ninth in the pole vault with 10’.

The 4×800 meter relay team placed sixth at 8:32:94.  And the 4×100 meter relay ran a 44.18 in prelims taking sixth, and then third in finals at 43.57.  The 4×400 relay team placed fifth at 3:32.28.

Keatin Best placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles prelims at 16.37 seconds and placed fourth in finals with a time of 16.46 seconds.  Best also placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 43.03 and placed fourth in finals at 41.8.

Senior Brandon Reddick placed third in the 100-meter dash prelims at 11.28 and then third again in finals at 10.94.  Reddick also placed sixth in the prelims of the 200 meter dash with 22.42 and then third in finals with 22.02.

Junior Jared Hines placed 10th in the 1600 meter at 4:39.94 (the ninth place time was 4:39.63).  Hines also placed eighth with a time of 10:11.23 in the 3200 meter run.

Senior Tyler Chapman ran the 800-meter in 2:01.22, putting him in fourth place.

The boys’ track team had an overall placement of third with 69 points.

The Braves will be at Showalter Field on March 15, for FR/SO metro starting at 8:30 am.
