The moment the girl’s lacrosse game against East River began, it was clear it was going to be an exciting game.  The girls scored goal after goal in a in a matter of minutes.  Within the first minute of the game’s beginning, freshman Emily Darr made the first goal of the evening, and a minute later senior Kiernan Mehan scored the next goal.  Not even five minutes later, sophomore Kaitlyn Driskell made another goal for the Lady Braves.

The game went on with very few goals coming from either team and soon enough they were tied.  Then, Mehan came in and scored the next goal with assistance from senior Sydney Jones.  The stands went wild as Driskell made the last goal of the first half for the team, leaving the score tied, 5-5.

Within the first minute of the second half, Driskell scored a goal for the team and it seemed to be going well.  Then the East River girls continuously made goals, and they took the lead.  In the last few minutes, when hope seemed to be lost, junior Dora Muratovic came to the rescue and made two goals in a row.  It wasn’t enough to win, 8-9, but it made the game unforgettable for the girls.

The Lady Braves will play Edgewater on Friday, April 4, away at 7: 30 pm.
