In front of a packed stadium, for the annual homecoming game, Timber Creek started strong.  The Wolves went for a quick break through the middle and got to the end zone but fortunately it was flagged for holding.

Within this same drive, the Braves defense keep the Wolves contained and forced a quick turnover. Quarterback Thomas Verzi III, senior, had some stellar plays throughout their first possession, although they weren’t enough to get past Timber Creek defenders.

Defensive player Jacob Bruno made a great tackle on the Wolves’ third down, putting them into a fourth down, but they went for it and scored the first touchdown of the game ending the first quarter 0-7.

Timber Creek took action shortly into the second half and sent a 60-yard bomb down field for a touchdown making the score 0-14. Verzi III, along with his other offensive teammates, made steady progress up field including key runs and great pass plays.

Timber Creek put a stop to the Braves on third and 20, forcing sophomore Jonathan De Lucca of the sideline, although, he made a successful field-goal, making the score 3-14. After having received the kickoff, Timber Creek again came straight off the bench, but this time with an 80 yard blazer up the middle and all the way down to the end zone, increasing their lead over the Braves to 3-20.

The Wolves forced another quick turnover, and then the Wolves, at fourth and inches, took the chance and scored yet again to make the half-time score 3-25.

Opening the third quarter, Verzi III made a run up the middle giving the Braves an opportunity for a touchdown, and that’s exactly what junior Tramone Sims needed.  Sims put the first touchdown on the board for the Braves, along withDe Lucca scoring a successful PAT, giving them a slight boost to make the score 10-26.

Timber Creek received the ball, but didn’t keep it for very long as the Braves’ defense was a brick wall in this drive. Verzi sent a 75-yard screamer down field to senior Riley Bell for another touchdown to give the Braves another boost making it 17-25.

Well into the fourth quarter the scoring remained the same.  It was a neck and neck performance for both teams, but the Braves were not able to stop the Timber Creek quarterback.

Verzi III, Bell, Devonte Booker, Bruno and Sims had noteworthy performances, but they were not enough to defeat the Wolves (6-2).

Come out and support the football team (4-5)  as they face Winter Park at Showalter Field on Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m.
